This afternoon at 4:30 GMT is the roundtable introduction of "Voices of Youth," a podcasting project for young Moroccan sponsored by Tanmia, described (Google translation from the French) as "a Moroccan Internet portal intended to reinforce the capacity of Moroccan
associations thanks to the use of communication and information
technologies" (Arabic, Google English). I will join the discussion and plan to speak briefly (in colloquial Arabic) about my own interest as a cultural psychologist in Moroccan youth, popular media, and the Internet. It will be useful to me -- and may be to others -- to have at hand the resources I plan to mention:
- The announcement of Tanmia's project "As-Swat Shabab (la voix des jeunes)" and the associated questionniare about Internet youth and readiness for podcasting
- The website set up a year ago by Gar Green, Mark Parkison, and me, also called "Voices of Youth": آصوات الشباب
- Ayyoub E's March, 2006, commentary on Moroccan youth Internet activity and training
- Si Mohammed B's 1987 darija script, l7muq ila nt9 ("If the Crazy Talked")
- A YouTube practice session with Audacity and Windows Movie Maker: "Drop-out Driss"
- "Youthful Moroccan Identities on the Internet," from this site, May 6, 2006
